About
Hello there!
My name is Katie.
I have three funny little girls that are the best.
Sometimes I sew, sometimes I knit, sometimes I glue, sometimes I have no idea what I’m doing and I like that. I often take what I make and take a photo or two before I forget, so that it can end up here for people to see.
We live in the ‘burbs of Northern Virginia about an hour from Washington DC.
I really enjoy making new friends and sharing ideas, so send me a message or leave a comment, I’d be thrilled to make your acquaintance! (Confession: with each new blog friend/follower I make, it usually involves a celebratory song and dance announcement that commences coincidentally around the same time my husband gets home from work). He loves this.
Oh and last, but most importantly. Thank you for reading my blog, I am truly humbled!
-K.

Hi!
So sorry I didn’t see your comment on my blog (www.thecottagehome.blogspot.com) until today……..I’m new to this whole blogging thing.
Anyway, in regards to the dress (you probably don’t remember……but it was a pillowcase dress, done a little differently…..the 2nd picture – http://thecottagehome.blogspot.com/2009/10/repurposed-childrens-fashions.html). I closed it by leaving the back of the pink piece around the chest open in the back and just attached a green ribbon (same as at the bottom) that ties in a bow. My daughter actually wore that dress yesterday and it looked really cute.
The booties were really easy too, if you want to know how I did those, I would be happy to email you that as well!
Love your blog!! That shirt dress is adorable…..and so is your daughter
.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Lindsay
Katie,
I love your blog and your creations. I would love to order something for our baby girl. What ideas do you have. I am debating between a outfit or a quilt. I love your stuff.
really sweet little blog…which I’d love to follow now and again when time permits. Love the girls names…Lady and Bird, how adorable…and Luke of course. We have a house full of wombats and angels and snowpeas…umm…and like your family, my children have ‘real’ names too….here’s to celebrating unconventional namesakes x
Hi there
I am a friend of Kristin Moore, we met briefly at Madeleine’s 1st birthday party and I stumbled upon your blog through kristin’s. I just want to say that I have been praying for a phil and ted’s too so I died when I read your post about craigslist!
Also I was wondering where you got the fabric for the elephant quilt you made? I absolutely love it! I am expecting as well and if we have a boy the name we chose is Jude! How funny?
I hope you are enjoying the world of cloth diapers, it became my passion when I was expecting my first! Good Luck!
Elizabeth
So happy to have found you on Pinterest. Love your style and what precious girls you have.
